In order to complete the student teaching semester, teacher candidates must provide the 教育工作者认证办公室 with complete application materials. All materials are posted here for those who are academically ready to student teach. If you are not sure if you are academically ready, please contact your advisor and refer to the student teaching requirements outlined in the 体育菠菜大平台本科 Catalog.

Application Deadline is Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Placement requests will be sent to schools on March 1 for fall student teaching and October 1 for spring student teaching. School preferences cannot be changed after those dates.

at a secondary school from which you graduated.
with a cooperating teacher who has taught you as a student.
in any school building where you have relatives in attendance, such as children or siblings.
at any school building where a relative is currently employed.
in any school district where a relative is a member of the School Board.
out-of-state in a school system other than Alief ISD and Garden City.

All student teaching shall be conducted in Nebraska schools that are approved or accredited by the Nebraska Department of 教育 or out-of-state schools approved by another state education agency.
Out-of-state placements will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Director of Field Experiences. To student teach in the Alief Independent School District in Houston, a GPA of 3.0或更高.
Arranging your own placement is highly inappropriate and prohibited.
Cooperating teachers must have 3 years experience in the teacher candidate’s endorsement area.
Placement in any school district is dependent upon the number of students requesting that site, 主管差旅经费, availability of a cooperating teacher with 3 years experience in your endorsement area, and the approval of the appropriate superintendent or principal. If there are more requests than available placements for a certain district, 名字将通过摇号系统选出.

Teacher candidates will follow their assigned school’s calendar, 不体育菠菜大平台的日历.
Once letters of request for placement are sent to schools, students will 不 be able to change their location requests. These requests are sent approximately 2 weeks after the application turn-in date. Exceptions to this will be considered only for serious reasons.
It is strongly encouraged that candidates 不 be employed during the student teaching semester. The student teaching semester is an extremely busy time. We realize some people must work while student teaching; however, try to limit hours to weekends. You need to have enough time to keep up with the demands of student teaching.
注意: Student teachers may not enroll in additional classes during student teaching without prior consent from the Director of Field Experiences. If you are enrolled in another class while student teaching, you may be asked to drop the additional class.
